Howling Winds

The tom hissed under his breath at this. He wasn't pleased with the answer, but it was one that he accepted anyway. There was no way that kit was going to survive anyway. She was much too weak since Song didn't have enough milk to feed her with what little prey she could find in the forest. "We should just throw her out," he replied. "She'll die anyway just like her mother."

The leader snarled, hissed, and bared his fangs "We will not toss her out to die when Vixen has more than enough milk for her and her own kits. As for the mother, we have no proof yet that she's dead, so hold your tongue."

Blackspore flicked his tail with a frown, but backed down. "Fine," he agreed.

"Do not worry." the leader assured him "I'm sure everything will work out"

"We'll see," the warrior responded as he turned and made his way out of the den.

Another tom met him, ears flat and tail thrashing. It was Scarredeyes, a red tabby with a scar over both his eyes.

"Our leader has gone soft" he murmured

"Yes, I know. But what can we do about it?"

He walked next to the other cat, tail high. "I say we rebel. Knock him out and put Rabbitfur in charge"

His tail twitched at the idea. "What about Willowfur? She's the Clan deputy," he pointed out. "And what about when Oakstar comes to? He'll only be furious with us."

The red cat smiled "We won't let him recover."

"You want to kill him?" Blackspore was taken aback by the other's words. He was upset as much as any cat, but to kill the Clan leader? That went against the warrior code. "That would still leave Willowfur in charge. She's the deputy. We'd have to take her out too."

The tom frowned and shook his head "Naw. Maybe he's right. Maybe this'll work out. I was just...I was angry you know?"

"I know how you feel. I'm angry too. Letting in a strange kit to BreezeClan? That's never happened before."

"Not onl that but finding the mnother and letting her in the clan." he lashed his tail "I can forgive the kit, she didn't ask to be taken here."

"She's too young to even remember her mother. The kit hasn't even opened her eyes yet. If Mosswhisker and Beetle can't find her, she'll grow up thinking Vixenfur is her mother."

"Yesss" he hissed softly in thought

He twitched his tail. "What are you thinking about?"
